Why do NO-BURN® projects require Certified Installations and Fire Resistive Class Rating Certificates?
Per our NO-BURN® ICC ESR-1838 Report, the International Code Council requires all NO-BURN® Commercial Product Installations to be applied by Certified No-Burn Technicians to ensure a consistent application and the millage requirements were met.
In addition, project inspections and FRCR Certificates are to be provided to ensure all necessary data and scope requirements were documented. This information, required by the International Code Council also outlines the FRCR level of Fire and Mold Protection for that project. The collected data is entered into a national registry for Building and Fire Officials to electronically review project data and documents for approvals.
How are the NO-BURN® products applied and certified?
NO-BURN® Products are applied by Certified NO-BURN SE, Inc. Technicians with commercial airless sprayers. After installation completion, a NO-BURN SE, Inc. Certified Inspector reviews the application for quality and scope requirements. After a successful inspection, the NO-BURN SE, Inc. Inspector provides an (FRCR) Fire Resistive Class Rating Certificate to the builder and/or owner. The builder and/or owner can provide a copy to the Building and/or Fire Officials for confirmation of application
During construction, when is the best time to schedule the NO-BURN® installation?
Generally on new construction, the application is scheduled right after the roof is decked and dried in. For existing structures NOBURN® Wood Gard and Plus can be applied any time to attic space, basements, drywall, painted walls and ceilings, trim. NOBURN® Fabric Fire Gard can be applied to home furnishings, carpets, fabrics, mattresses and draperies.
Does NO-BURN® products provide “Value Engineering for builders?

How long does it take to apply NO-BURN® to a home?
During new construction, a typical home of a size of 3,500 square feet under roof or less can be treated in about two working days - one visit to treat all the framing & wood, and a second visit to treat the drywall (and trim if applicable).
How much does it cost to put NO-BURN® in a new home?
NO-BURN® products are generally calculated using the structure's "under-roof square footage." While regional labor differences and project variables may dictate changes in labor costs, and average cost of labor and materials for a 3,500 sqft home is approximately $1.50 to $2.00 per under-roof square foot. When doing independent projects, i.e. firewalls, steel support beams, they are calculated on linear and actual square footage.
How does NO-BURN® prevent mold formation?
Any NO-BURN® product with an "Mih" designation on the product name contains a mold inhibitor chemical. This chemical encapsulates existing mold while preventing growth of new mold. Like the primary chemical ingredients the mold inhibitor chemical is also non-toxic and non-carcinogenic.
Smoke is typically the most deadly product of a fire. How much does NO-BURN® decrease smoke?
NO-BURN® products can reduce smoke by 80%.
Can homeowners get a discounts by having NO-BURN® installed in their new homes?
Yes. Typically home owners can receive up to a 15% discount In addition, because of the huge risk reduction against fire and mold, some mortgage companies offer discount points on mortgage loans.
Can builders receive discounts with NO-BURN® Installaions?
Yes, there are a couple of options. Once NO-BURN® is installed, the builder can receive an optional multi-year mold insurance policy. Builders can also receive up to 40% off their Builders Risk Policy. See our website for details. www.NOBURNSE.com.
Is NO-BURN® environmentally safe?
Yes, NO-BURN® designed the products are “GREEN” products. They are non-toxic and non-carcinogenic.

Can NO-BURN® be applied to an existing home or business?
Yes, NO-BURN® products can be applied to any exposed wood, drywall, trim, and carpet/fabrics. Typically, NO-BURN® Plus is applied as a primer before a repaint.
Will NO-BURN® work in an existing structure like a horse barn or any open Wood frame structure?
Yes, exposed wood in existing structures can be treated.
If I NO-BURN® Fabric Guard is applied to washable fabrics is the protection lessened after washing?
Yes. If a fabric treated with NO-BURN® Fabric Guard is washed it should be re-treated.
